room size friendly staff difficult access stark lighting
The room was a good size, providing enough space for my luggage. Staff members were helpful and friendly. They provided quick assistance when i asked.
Access by car was difficult for drop off, I would have expected portering. The bar was starkly lit. The restaurant did not seem well laid out.

The location was central, a definite plus for getting around.
The noise started early and the scaffolding completely ruined the exterior view. It was like staying in a building site!

the hotel is very convenient to the royal mile. i found many sightseeing locations within easy reach. the beds were comfy and i slept soundly each night. breakfast was also a treat (especially the pancakes!).
i felt the extensive work going on greatly affected the feel of the place. i wasn't aware of this beforehand. it impacted the overall experience slightly.

some issues during stay
the hotel seemed like it was undergoing a lot. i wasn't told about any of this when i booked, annoying. moving around the building was a chore because of it, took way to long.

The breakfast buffet provided many tasty options. I was especially fond of the made-to-order omelets. The room had modern design elements. It was spacious too!
